✦ AI Features Guide

AI Search β€” Find Any Lead Instantly

Just describe the carrier you want β€” no need to pick a state first. AI reads your query, figures out which markets to search, loads the data, and surfaces the best matches with a reason for each one.

Safety / Compliance Small TX fleets under 50 trucks with safety violations and no compliance platform
Insurance New authority 2023–2024 hazmat carriers in FL and GA with minimum insurance
TMS Mid-size fleets 100–300 trucks running multi-state OTR with legacy ELD and no TMS
Factoring Growing carriers under 3 years old, under 40 trucks, active in IL or OH with no factoring partner
Tolling Large fleets 200+ trucks running TX, FL, PA toll corridors with no integrated toll solution
Recruiting SaaS Owner-operators and small fleets under 30 trucks, new drivers, no ATS detected in midwest
πŸ’‘ Pro tip: Combine signals β€” "new authority + hazmat + minimum BIPD in CA" is far more precise than a single keyword. The more specific, the better the matches.

✦ Prospect Deep Dive β€” Exclusive Intel on Any Carrier

Open any carrier's detail panel and hit ✦ Deep Dive. AI scrubs their website, pulls recent news headlines, combines FMCSA data, and delivers a full intelligence brief tailored to your persona β€” in seconds. No other prospecting platform does this.

🌐
Website scan β€” AI reads their website to understand their services, geography, and tech stack signals.
πŸ“°
News hooks β€” Pulls recent press about the carrier β€” expansions, safety incidents, leadership changes β€” so you open with something relevant.
⚑
Why Now signal β€” The single most compelling urgency trigger for your persona at this carrier, right now.
🎯
Decision maker profile β€” Who to call, their title, what they care about, and the best way to reach them.
πŸš€
Opening line β€” A specific, non-generic first sentence crafted around their actual signals. Not a template.
πŸ›‘οΈ
Objection handles β€” The top objections this carrier type raises, and exactly how to handle them.
βš”οΈ
Competitive edge β€” Why you win against alternatives for this specific carrier profile.
πŸ“Š
Lead score 1–10 β€” Calibrated quality score for your persona, so you know where to invest time.
πŸ’‘ Best workflow: Run AI Search to find your list β†’ sort by score β†’ open your top carriers β†’ ✦ Deep Dive each Hot lead before you dial. Walk into every call knowing more than they expect.

What You Can Filter By

AI understands natural language for all of these β€” no dropdowns needed:

πŸ“
State / Region β€” "in TX", "southeast", "midwest", "FL and GA". AI auto-loads the right markets.
πŸš›
Fleet size β€” "small" (≀50), "mid-size" (50–200), "large" (200+), or exact ranges like "100–300 trucks".
⚠️
Safety signals β€” "safety violations", "BASIC alerts", "conditional rating", "fatal crash on record", "driver OOS issues".
πŸ“…
Authority age β€” "new authority", "under 2 years old", "established carrier", "authority since 2022".
πŸ“¦
Cargo type β€” "hazmat", "reefer", "flatbed", "tanker", "OTR freight", "intermodal".
πŸ’»
Tech stack β€” "no ELD", "legacy ELD", "no TMS", "no ATS detected", "no compliance platform".
πŸ›‘οΈ
Insurance β€” "minimum BIPD", "expiring coverage", "insurance gap", "thin liability limits", "underinsured".
πŸ—ΊοΈ
Coverage β€” "multi-state", "5+ state authority", "running toll-heavy corridors", "long-haul OTR".

AI Outreach Pack β€” Email, LinkedIn DM & Voicemail

Click ✦ Write Outreach Pack on any carrier and AI builds a personalized email, LinkedIn DM, and voicemail script β€” in three tones (Direct, Consultative & Curious/educational) that learn your voice over time β€” plus objection handles and a follow-up plan, based on their specific buying signals. It's segment-aware: a private fleet is addressed as a fleet manager, never pitched like a trucking company. Every message is tailored to the carrier's data β€” not a template.

πŸ’Ό LinkedIn DM
βœ‰οΈ Email
πŸ“ž Call / VM
πŸ’¬ Text / SMS
πŸ’Ό
LinkedIn DM β€” Short, signal-specific opener. References their exact situation. Ends with a soft question. Max 280 chars.
βœ‰οΈ
Email β€” Signal-led subject + body, 70–100 words, clear 15-minute CTA.
πŸ“ž
Voicemail β€” Natural ~40-word script with a clear callback ask.
🎯
Direct tone β€” Signal-first, punchy, no pleasantries. Best for hot leads.
🀝
Consultative tone β€” Warmer, advisor-not-vendor. Best for complex enterprise sales.
🧠
Curious tone β€” Educational & question-led. Opens with a sharp diagnostic question, teaches one useful insight, and "pokes the bear" β€” earns a reply by being useful, not by pitching. Great for skeptical or vendor-fatigued buyers across every persona.
πŸ›‘οΈ
Objection handles β€” Pre-written responses to the likely pushback for this specific carrier.
πŸ“…
Follow-up plan β€” A 3-touch suggested cadence (what to send and roughly when) β€” yours to run manually, nothing auto-sends.
πŸ’‘ Customization: Not happy with a piece? Use the refine box under any generated message to ask AI to adjust tone, length, or angle β€” it regenerates just that piece.

🎯 Competitive-Displacement Intel & 🧠 Collective IQ

DotRadar isn't a lead tracker β€” it's a platform that gets smarter every time your team uses it. Run ✦ Analyze Tech Stack on a carrier and Claude detects the vendor they already run (ELD, TMS, ATS, fuel, factoring, toll). That intel is shared across the team, and your Outreach Pack automatically opens with a rip-and-replace angle instead of a cold pitch.

🎯
Incumbent detection β€” one rep's tech-stack scan is saved and reused by everyone, so you always know who you're displacing before you reach out.
β–Ά
Displacement-aware packs β€” when an incumbent is known for your persona, the pack acknowledges their current system, makes switching worth it, and pre-loads a migration-cost objection handle.
🧠
Collective IQ β€” what you teach RadarIQ, the Deep Dives you run, and the stacks you scrape feed a shared intelligence layer that Claude distills into field intel for the whole team's outreach.
πŸ›‘οΈ
Honest by design β€” it learns only from real in-platform engagement (never manual win/lost), and a read goes live only once multiple distinct reps contribute quality signal, so no one rep can skew it.
πŸ’‘ The more your team genuinely researches, teaches RadarIQ, and scrapes stacks, the sharper the platform's intel becomes β€” for everyone, automatically.

Pro Tips for Best Results

⚑
Stack your filters β€” use AI search after setting fleet size presets. AI only analyzes what's in scope.
πŸ”„
Switch persona tabs to re-score the same carrier. A "Not Now" for Recruiting might be "Hot" for Insurance.
πŸ’¬
If AI finds too many results, add more criteria: "…in CA with direct contact available and 50+ trucks".
πŸ“‹
Click any example query above to load it directly into the search bar β€” then tweak it.

Scoring Guide

Tier System β€” What do the colors mean?

Hot
Top fit β€” Multiple signals firing. Call this week. Highest close probability in your territory.
Warm
Good fit β€” Key signals present. Add to your pipeline and send a personalized Outreach Pack.
Not Now
Marginal fit β€” One or two weak signals. Nurture, don't push. Revisit when signals develop.
Avoid
Poor fit β€” Wrong profile or missing data. Skip unless territory is thin.
⚑ Scores are persona-specific. The same carrier might be Hot for Insurance but Warm for TMS β€” switch the persona tab to see how they rank for your product.

Persona Score Drivers β€” What moves the number?

Recruiting
Fleet size 10–500 trucks, driver OOS rate, unsafe-driving BASIC, authority age ≀6y, driver-to-truck ratio <1.0 (trucks sitting idle), multi-state ops, hazmat/reefer/heavy cargo, no ATS detected (+20)
Safety Platform
BASIC alerts count & percentile, fatal crashes, crash volume, vehicle/driver OOS multiples, no compliance platform (+18), J.J. Keller legacy (+10), Samba Safety only (+8)
TMS
Fleet size 100–2,000, stale MCS-150 (>18mo), multi-cargo complexity, hazmat ops, legacy ELD, no website, fleet growth (census delta), proven multi-state footprint (inspection record), confirmed no-TMS (+25), vendor sunset/acquisition events
Dashcam / Tolling
Unsafe-driving BASIC, vehicle OOS rate, fatal crash, toll-heavy home state (TX, FL, IL, PA…), real toll-lane share from the 12-mo inspection footprint (strongest signal), legacy ELD (no integrated cam), incumbent toll device = displacement target
Insurance
Renewal window (πŸ”₯ ≀30d, ≀60d, ≀90d), fatal crash + BASIC alerts, minimum BIPD with active risk factors, conditional/unsatisfactory rating, hazmat/reefer ops, new authority (<2y) β€” target before incumbent re-quotes
Freight Broker
Satisfactory rating, clean BASIC record, low revenue-per-truck (needs loads), proven lanes from the inspection footprint, verified active BIPD (tender-ready), fleet growth = capacity needing loads, dry van / flatbed / reefer cargo; fresh crashes & pending cancellations deduct
⚑ Scores update live when you switch persona tabs. The same carrier can be A-tier for one product and C-tier for another.

πŸ›‘οΈ UW Risk Score β€” How It's Built & Why You Can Trust It

The Underwriting Radar's UW Risk Score (0–100, higher = more risk) is a synthesized loss-propensity read for insurance producers. It is built only from public, verifiable data β€” never a rep's opinion or the persona fit-score β€” so two agents looking at the same carrier see the same number. Five weighted inputs:
Safety & BASIC Β· 30
FMCSA SMS BASIC alert count + safety rating (conditional/unsatisfactory). The regulator's own safety measurement.
Crash loss (rate) Β· 25
FMCSA crashes, last 24 months, normalized to fleet size β€” severity-weighted crashes per power-unit-year (fatal 3Γ—, injury 1.5Γ—, tow 1Γ—), benchmarked to a high-frequency reference, with a categorical floor for any fatal. Rate-based so a large fleet isn't scored "severe" just for having more absolute crashes; the closest public stand-in for a loss run.
Litigation exposure Β· 25
Public court/news suits, verdicts & settlements + active injury-attorney solicitation (βš–οΈ Litigation). none-found 0 β†’ severe 25.
Coverage adequacy Β· 12
FMCSA L&I BIPD limit vs. the liability the cargo actually carries (hazmat/tanker/auto/high-value under-limit = gap).
Operating hazard Β· 8
Hazmat exposure + new-authority venture risk (<2yr).
Bands: 0–19 Preferred Β· 20–39 Standard Β· 40–59 Elevated Β· 60–79 High Β· 80–100 Severe.
It's designed to change as the picture sharpens. The score is recomputed from live data every time you open a carrier. Pulling πŸ”„ Live Signals (fresh FMCSA crashes/BASICs/L&I), running βš–οΈ Litigation, or importing a real COI moves it and flips the confidence badge from preliminary β†’ partial β†’ βœ“ live. A category with no confirmed data scores 0 and is labelled "run … to score" β€” absence never inflates the number, so a preliminary read is conservative, not falsely clean. As DotRadar's shared intelligence and your team's enrichment add verified data on a carrier, that carrier's read tightens for everyone.
⚠️ It's directional underwriting triage from public records β€” not a bureau or actuarial rate. Always verify against filings and a real loss run before binding.

Who to Target β€” Persona Buyer Contacts

When you click Enrich contacts on a carrier, DotRadar automatically searches for the right buyer based on your active persona tab. Here's who it targets:
Recruiting SaaS
VP of Recruiting, Director of Driver Recruiting, VP Talent Acquisition, Driver Development Manager, Chief People Officer
Safety Platform
VP Safety, Director of Safety, Chief Safety Officer, Fleet Safety Manager, Director of Compliance, VP Risk
TMS
CIO, VP IT, VP Operations, Director of Transportation, Director of Operations, Systems Manager
Dashcam / Tolling
VP Safety, VP Operations, Fleet Manager, Director of Safety, Fleet Operations Manager
Insurance
Owner, President, CEO, CFO, Controller, Risk Manager, VP Finance
Freight Broker
Owner, Dispatch Manager, Director of Operations, VP Operations, Freight Manager

Tech Stack Signals β€” ATS & Compliance Platforms

DotRadar detects what recruiting and compliance software each carrier is running. This tells you exactly what you're displacing β€” or if the field is wide open.
Driver ATS / Recruiting
No ATS detected
Greenfield. Using spreadsheets or job boards only. Highest urgency β€” your biggest opportunity. +20 pts on Recruiting score.
IntelliApp
Older SMB tool, often replaced as fleets scale. High switching potential. Lead with modern UX + driver experience. +15 pts.
CDLsuite
SMB ATS β€” common at 20–75 truck fleets. Often outgrown. ROI pitch works well here. +10 pts.
TruckRight
Mid-tier, growing. Switching window can open. Focus on integration depth or reporting. +8 pts.
DriverReach
Modern ATS. Differentiate on specific gaps β€” compliance integration, lead source reporting, driver portal.
Tenstreet
Market leader. Entrenched at large fleets. Lead with integration story (many tools work alongside Tenstreet), or ROI comparison for switching. +3 pts.
WorkHound
Driver feedback/retention tool β€” not a full ATS. Often used alongside another system. Complementary pitch possible.
Safety / Compliance Platform
No platform
Manual compliance. High regulatory risk β€” urgent buyer if they've had any BASIC alerts. Your strongest opening. +18 pts on Safety score.
J.J. Keller
Legacy compliance tool. Often manual/paper workflows underneath the software. Strong modernization pitch. +10 pts.
Samba Safety
MVR monitoring only β€” narrow scope. Likely missing broader compliance coverage (HOS, DQ files, training). Gap exists. +8 pts.
Motive (KeepTruckin)
ELD + basic compliance. May lack depth in driver qualification, training, or audit readiness. Evaluate feature gap.
Samsara
Broad ELD + safety platform. Well-entrenched at enterprise fleets. Lead with gaps in compliance depth or specific module comparison.
Fleetworthy
Full compliance suite. Compliance-aware buyer β€” they understand the value. Focus on ROI, audit outcomes, or specific modules.

Buying Signals β€” What do the dots mean?

Red β€” Act now. Insurance renewing <60d, fatal crash, BASIC spike, driver hiring surge. These are time-sensitive windows. Reach out this week.
Yellow β€” Warm up. Stale MCS-150 (ops friction), new authority issued, fleet growth. Signals of change β€” set a reminder in 2–4 weeks.
Green β€” FYI. Hazmat authority added, recent MCS-150 filed. Background context β€” useful for your pitch but not time-critical.

BASIC Alerts β€” FMCSA Safety Measurement System

Unsafe Driving
Speeding, reckless driving, lane violations
HOS Compliance
Hours-of-service log violations
Driver Fitness
Unlicensed / unqualified drivers
Controlled Substances
Drug/alcohol violations
Vehicle Maintenance
Brake, tire, light defects
BASIC percentile shows how a carrier ranks vs peers. Above 65–75% = FMCSA intervention territory. A carrier with 3+ BASICs at high percentiles is under real pressure β€” that's your opening.

ELD Provider

The carrier’s Electronic Logging Device vendor β€” detected from tech-stack scans of their site, driver job postings that name the equipment, CSV imports, and rep-confirmed intel. There is no public registry mapping carriers to ELDs, so unknown means not yet detected β€” never "no ELD." Use this to tailor your pitch β€” a Samsara customer is a different conversation than someone on a legacy Rand McNally device. For TMS and dashcam reps, ELD tells you their tech comfort level and who the fleet's current vendor relationships are with.
Legacy ELDs
BigRoad, Rand McNally ELD, J.J. Keller E-Log, Blue Ink Tech, ELD One, Gorilla Safety β€” likely behind on their broader tech stack. Extra +8–15 pts for TMS and Dashcam personas.
